Project overview
The Work
This Hamburg, Iowa, residence required extensive remodeling. Before work began, drywall was patchy and damaged, plaster was separating from the ceilings, the bathroom was down to the studs without insulation, a tub, or a sink, and the basement was deteriorating. The original hardwood floors were covered by two layers of stain, while the windows were badly chipped.
Remodeling Work
The project included drywall repairs, knockdown texture, painting, tile ceilings, cabinets, trim, stained window trim, and deck staining. The original hardwood floors were brought back by sanding away the existing stain layers.
The bathroom was redone with insulation, a sink, and a tub. Exterior windows were caulked and painted, and the basement concrete floors and walls were redone.

How It Was Handled
Repaired and finished the interior surfaces, sanded the original hardwood floors, redid the bathroom with insulation, a sink, and a tub, caulked and painted the exterior windows, stained the deck and window trim, installed cabinets and trim, and redid the basement concrete floors and walls.
