Mudroom Completion and Door Installation
Completion of a previously gutted mudroom in Clarinda, Iowa, including a wider exterior door with a dog door, insulation, drywall finishing, and related interior repairs.

The Work
The mudroom had already been gutted when work began. The existing walkthrough door was drafty, did not fit properly, and needed to be enlarged from 34 inches to 36 inches.
Work included installing the wider door and a dog door, insulating the ceiling, hanging and finishing drywall, applying a sprayed knockdown texture, and patching drywall along the stairs. A bathroom door was also installed, and the bathroom window was removed before the opening was framed and drywalled.

The approach
How It Was Handled
Installed a wider door with a dog door, insulated the ceiling, completed drywall and knockdown texture work, patched the stairway walls, installed the bathroom door, and framed and drywalled the former bathroom window opening.
